What was Slick doing in China?!

In July of 2006 and 2007 Slick went to China with a team from Dallas Baptist University to teach at an English Summer Camp.

Slick taught Kindergarteners!

Slick made everyday as fun and educational as possible for his students, after all, Slick’s major is elementary education.  He also had time to stroll in the massive city, so he did some street performing (not for money/yuan).  Everywhere he performed, huge crowds on non-English speakers stopped to watch this unusual spectacle.

In teaching about Halloween, Slick used his face painting skill (what little he has) to make costumes so his could trick-or-treat and TP around the school.

Put simply, Slick’s class was an incredibly fun, energetic, smart, and beautiful bunch of 15 students and one teacher assistant.

Once during free time, Slick made bee balloons for everyone.

The teacher (Slick) and teacher assistant (CiCi) painted each other and the class for Halloween costumes.

The teachers at the English summer camp had the opportunity to play with and love on orphan children.

What a catch!

Needless to say, English-speakers and non-English-speakers are impressed with 7 ball juggling.

No, Slick isn’t wearing handcuffs, but he could still juggle if he were.

Since Slick has juggled 5 balls over an hour several times, he felt comfortable doing it on a bridge over water.

When Slick stopped juggling, tons of strangers wanted to take their picture with him.  This made Slick feel like a superstar celebrity.

This is Slick actually trying to blend in.  The skyscrapers are everywhere!

This is the museum that was a scene for the movie Ultraviolet.

Just outside he entrance of a huge cave, Slick did some 5 ball juggling.

With full-time teaching responsibilities for 15 students, only a little time was spent practicing in China.

Just outside the exit of the cave, Slick found a pretty place for a juggling picture.

Slick paid a professional photographer to take this picture while standing on a narrow strip of land over a pond inside the cave.  Too bad the mist blurred the picture.

This might be the world’s largest banjo that Slick is juggling on.

The school asked Slick to perform twice in the graduation ceremony for the parents and children.

This is a shop where Slick bought costumes they tailored to his preferences and physical size.

Everyone was so amazed every time Slick juggled, you would think there weren’t any jugglers in China.  Then again, Slick isn’t a typical juggler.
