Coulrophobia

Statistics reveal that 1 out of every 7 Americans has some degree of coulrophobia.  As an experienced professional entertainer, David Slick has witnessed many instances.  Young children are often apprehensive and some cry, hide behind their parents, and keep their distance from the cause of their fears: an unintentionally frightening clown.  Children’s fears of clowns are not completely irrational.  Though the clown’s purpose is to entertain and not hurt anyone, children can’t always determine that.  From a frightened child’s perspective, it isn’t a human being in a costume acting silly.  It is a creature with large bright hair, ghostly white skin, exaggerated facial features, colorful clothes, giant feet, and outlandish actions (yelling, waving, hitting self, etc.) that can create fears that linger for years.

The Cure to the Common Clown

David Slick does not scare children because his costumes do not hide his identity as a member of the human race.  He always keeps the children’s perspective in mind.  Whenever a child becomes a little intimidated by his presence (usually when he is entertaining on stilts) David Slick simply gives the child their space and continues entertaining at a distance comfortable for everyone.   As the most skilled juggler in DFW, Slick entertains both children and adults.  For your next event, instead of booking a juggler or a clown, book the

JUGGLER CLOWN.
